What is PPF (Paint Protection Film)?
PPF (Paint Protection Film), also known as surface protection film, is a high-tech thermoplastic polyurethane film applied as an invisible protective layer to the precious surfaces of your yacht and your premises: reception desks, door handles, lift fronts, room service trolleys.
Unlike decorative vinyl wrapping, PPF is designed with a single aim: to protect without transforming. It is completely transparent (or slightly tinted depending on the finish), letting the natural beauty of your original paintwork, varnished wood, marble or stainless steel show through.
Built-in UV protection prevents the yellowing of varnished wood and the oxidation of paintwork over the long term.
Its self-healing property is its most extraordinary feature: under the effect of heat (sun, heat gun), superficial micro-scratches disappear on their own, restoring the surface to its original appearance.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about PPF
No. Marine-grade PPF films are optically transparent: the original colour and gloss level are preserved. The quality of an installation shows above all in the seams: we place them along the lines of the boat — edges, rubbing strakes, superstructure joints — so that they disappear from view.
It depends on the film range and the exposure: cruising area, UV intensity, frequency of berthing. At REBELNOBEL, the warranty ranges from 2 to 10 years depending on the film and the protected area.
Yes. The film comes off without sanding or harsh solvents and leaves the surface in the condition it was in when it was protected. It is a reversible protection: a real asset before a sale or a change of programme.
The marine-grade films we install are UV-stabilised and block 90 to 100% of radiation. They are designed to stay clear over long exposure, which is why we only use these ranges and not generic “automotive” films.
On sound, well-bonded paintwork, yes. On a surface that is already damaged, we carry out an assessment: in some cases a local repair is needed before application, in others the protection is still worthwhile. We tell you before we start, not after.
